Being a chef I can honestly say I love most foods, but for some reason I have never loved salmon. It’s ok. I guess I can say I like it, but I don’t “capital L” -love it, and I really don’t cook it at home for husband and I very often. So, when I got pregnant a few months ago, I knew I had to find a way to really enjoy salmon, because as most of us know, wild caught salmon is one of the best food sources of omega -3 fatty acids.

Ginger and turmeric are two types of flowering plants that are widely used in natural medicine. I love the invigorating flavor and aroma of ginger. It is one of the healthiest spices on the planet and has incredible detoxing and cleansing benefits. Loaded with nutrients and powerful anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric is this beautiful orangey-yellow spice that has a slightly sweet and earthy flavor.
Stress makes everything so much harder and no one is immune to it. Stress comes from a variety of issues work, school, illness, current events, and wide range of other issues. Oftentimes, we are dealing with multiple sources at once. It can be overwhelming or running at a low buzz in the background, but rarely are we free of it entirely. This is a major issue! Without managing stress a chemical, called cortisol, will run rampant in your body.
I’m sure everyone is used to starting off the new year with a specific diet to try and lose weight. This will maybe go on for a month or two before we get tired of it and lose our “beginning of the year” motivation. As a chef of Whole Health Everyday, I want people to focus more on long term wellness of their body and not just a diet that will make them lose weight fast, but then gain it back once they get tired of the diet they are on. Instead of making a plan to follow a fad diet that is very restrictive, this New Year, make a resolution to break the dieting cycle. Create a nourishing, sustainable, eating pattern that works for you that will be reasonable to stick with long-term. This way, you could stick with this eating habit on vacations, during the holidays, and at any party or event.
No matter what your holidays look like this year, they're probably still stressful and stress has extremely negative effects on your health. Now's a great time to try something different and what could be more fun than goat yoga?

I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a year of change. We changed the way we work, changed the way we eat, and changed the way we go to school but we aren’t taking the time to change how we decompress after a long day.

Weekly, I make wellness shots for one of my clients and their family. Wellness shots are typically 2-4oz of Anti-inflammatory, immunity boosting fruits, vegetables, oils, herbs and warming spices to improve your everyday health. They are not only immunity boosters, but help in numerous ways including aiding in digestion, energy and blood health.
