Healing Foods For Recovery

I was a Keto girl, pretty regularly for about three years, before really admitting to myself that the dairy I was consuming (mostly cheese at every meal) was not good for my health.

I knew I had arthritis, I was just not aware of the severity of it.  Although I never felt like I had “leaky gut,” I would imagine that the high doses of prescription Ibuprofen I was on for many, many years contributed to me getting an autoimmune disease.  The result being a lot of pain and debilitating effects in my hands and feet. Fast forward two years later and it was determined that I needed to have reconstructive surgery on both feet, due to severe arthritis and collapsed arches

My recovery time was three months, I had already been sugar free, gluten free and alcohol free but after my surgery I decided I was going to be free from everything else that is NOT clean eating.  That included processed foods, all dairy, fried foods and caffeine.  I also decided to just consume fish and eggs as part of my animal proteins and nothing else from animal.

Right away I loved the way I was feeling from this way of eating.  I was consuming a lot more plants but it was also hard to eat that many vegetables without digestive problems.  That’s when I decided to start juicing.  Oh boy, did that ever kick me into high gear of recovery and extreme energy and mental clarity!!  I no longer rely on caffeine at all, I have not been on any anti-inflammatory meds for over three months, I have tons of energy and ZERO cravings for anything, my rings fit again and at the moment I am pain free, first time in 10 years or more.  I am a happy Chef!

My daily juicing consists of, my morning immunity shot= ginger root, turmeric root, black pepper, apple cider vinegar and honey.  Supreme greens = spinach, cucumber, celery, parsley, lemon, pineapple and ABC = apple, beets, carrots.

Wow, just 3 months of recovery time? That is absolutely amazing and so inspiring! I think if more people could read into your testimony, they too would also be on the road to recovery and a life without constant pain.

Dairy especially cheese is a hard one to admit when you realize its hurting you. Coming from a chef this is very helpful to get others to look into it and see if its something they should consume less of.
