Mediterranean Diet and Weight Loss

We highly recommend the Mediterranean diet and here are our tips on how to get started!
Year in year out you will hear that the Mediterranean diet is voted #1 diet for health and weight loss.

I spent about a year working and traveling in the Mediterranean and would like to share some tips that make it such a great diet and lifestyle.
  • Walking- Walk everywhere! To catch a train, to the store, the restaurant, and picking your kids up from school.  Aim for 10k steps throughout the day morning, midday, and after eating!
  • Portion sizes- There are no massive bowls of pasta of 12 oz pieces of fish or steak. Eat what you want but watch the portion sizes and ALWAYS load up on leafy greens and veggies.
  • Time- Do not rush! Take your time eating, put the fork and knife down between bites. Take time to talk with family or friend. Read a book or some news over breakfast. Catch up with a friend over lunch!

​These are just a few tips for things you can do no matter the diet. Do not feel rushed start by trying 1 thing 2-3 times a week. Build up till you do it 7x a week and then add the next part.

Med diet has the most substantial body of evidence to suggest a link between nutrition, positive health outcomes, and longevity. It's really the only popular diet that has been consistently suggested to promote a long, healthy, happy life. Thanks Brett!
