What is plant-based diet?
A whole-food, plant-based diet is centered on whole, unrefined, or minimally refined plants. It’s a diet based on fruits, vegetables, tubers, whole grains, and legumes; and it excludes or minimizesanimal products (including dairy, chicken, eggs and fish, as well as highly refined foods like bleached flour, refined sugar, and oil.
Is a plant-based diet the same as vegan?
Not quite but somewhat similar. A vegan would not eat any animal products at all.
What foods are on a plant-based diet?
A plant-based diet is a diet based on foods derived from plants, including vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes and fruits, but with few or no animal products.
