Meal prep can be time consuming and tiresome, but it actually helps you save time later by putting all the effort up front.

Here is what meal prep can do for you:
  • Save you precious time later in the week by having food/meals already cooked
  • Encourages you to eat healthier
  • Saves you money by decreasing the amount of meals you eat out
  • Helps you learn portion control
  • Decreases stress!
Here are a few simple tips that will eliminate the marathon meal prep that you may be used to:

  1. Go through your week to see what meals you need to prepare for and on what days.
  2. Be sure to write down the order you’re going to prep the meals to ensure smooth flow.
  1. Plan the ingredients you need for each meal.
  2. Be sure to utilize all the ingredients you plan to buy throughout your weekly menu.
  3. Make your grocery list before you head out to the grocery store.
  4. Design the grocery list around outside flow of the store (fresh products are on the outside of the store.)
  5. Start with a clean kitchen. Clear your workspace of all clutter (a clean station is a clean mind.)
  6. “Mise en place”is a French culinary phrase which means to “set up.” Be sure you have all of your ingredients, utensils, and cook wear you will need for meal prep out and ready to go.
  7. Prep the necessary food containers ahead of time so they are ready when the food is.
  8. Multitask (cooking more than one meal at a time will move things along).

So, there you have it! Our Top 10 Time Saving Tips for Meal Prep that will help to make your meal prep a breeze!
