An Interview with Chef Emira
What made you want to become a chef?
My aunt would come over and make these delicious meals with ingredients that she would get from our garden. I always wondered why anyone else couldn't do that.



What is your signature dish?
Lamb Chop with Hazelnut Pesto 



What are the five ingredients you can’t live without?
 
Onion, Garlic, Olive oil, olives and fresh herbs 



What do you love about cooking?
Cooking is an art form that allows for personal expression. You can experiment with flavors, textures, and presentations, creating dishes that reflect your personality and creativity.



When you’re creating a new recipe, what influences and inspires you?
Cookbooks and Magazines, Family Recipes, Dining Experiences, Seasonal Ingredients.



What advice would you give a new cook? 
Choose straightforward recipes that require minimal ingredients and techniques. This will help you gain confidence without feeling overwhelmed. 



What are you doing when you’re not cooking? 
During my free time, I enjoy yoga, hiking, getting together with family, dining out, and meeting friends for coffee.



What are yor guilty pleasures?
An Albanian dessert called tespixhe, which is soaked in simple syrup.

What 5 tools should every new cook have in the kitchen?
A sharp chef's knife, sturdy cutting board, versatile skillet, measuring cups and spoons, set of mixing bowls

List/describe three of your favorite tips or techniques you use in the kitchen?
Use a digital thermometer, mise en place, season your dishes

​A few of my favorite creations include: 


​Chef Emira studied at the La Cuisine Culinary Art Professional Chef Program and graduated with distinction in 2015. Since then, she has also become certified in a Nutrition course. Emira's passion for food is with Mediterranean cuisine as she grew up on the coast of the Mediterranean!  She takes full advantage of the wide variety of fresh ingredients found in the area, especially the local produce from Farmers' Markets. Emira's passion is cooking clean, healthy foods with tons of flavor! Whether it's plant based, low carb, or other diet you're after, chef Emira has amazing recipes and talent.
