An interview with chef Whitni:
What made you want to become a chef? I grew up with a family that loved to cook and I definitely learned a lot but I never thought about becoming a chef, I kind of fell into it. I did start out in the restaurant as a server and then a bartender. AT age 30 I moved into working in homes as a nanny/cook/house manager. This is when I started catering on the side, always learning. It wasn’t until all my kids/charges grew up that I went to culinary school and made it official at age 48, graduating with a culinary degree. I never went back to the restaurants, stayed in the homes as a private chef, personal chef and caterer…I LOVE IT What is your signature dish? My chicken piccata, everyone wants to know how I make it soooo good, especially for 200 at a wedding! What do you love about cooking? Creating an amazing dish that people will talk about and remember always. My passion now lies with inspiring people and giving them my knowledge and experience in healthy choices. Using food as medicine, as a healing tool to become the best person they can be, to live a healthy, disease free life. What advice would you give a new cook? Make sure you’re passionate about creating/cooking because you will spend extremely long and grueling days in the kitchen. What are you doing when you’re not cooking? I don’t recall, that rarely happens. What are your guilty pleasures? Pizza! No matter what “diet” I’m following or how healthy I am, I will always splurge on a pizza What 5 tools should every new cook have in the kitchen? Super sharp knives, a BIG, non slip cutting board, mini chopper, and large food processor List/describe three of your favorite tips or techniques you use in the kitchen? Braising, cooking the foods low and slow, this dissolves the meat’s collagen into gelatin which enriches and thickens the liquid and produces a to die for dish Keep it healthy, a quick sauté with a little fat and a lot of colors |

“We were in dire need of some help with food. I have Lyme disease and going through tough treatment. My husband was so tired after work to make anything, so we were eating unhealthy...Then Whole Health Everyday came to the rescue with an amazing personal chef Whitni. We had an initial intake call with Lindsay to get to know our likes and dislikes. They had an intake form that Lindsay completed for me. What a help. Other agencies wanted us to fill out a long forms, so this was extremely helpful. We met the chef on that call as well, so the whole team was informed and organized. Next we scheduled the days and chef Whitni came into our home for the first time. She is so professional and friendly. She made our house feel like home with all of the smells wafting from the kitchen. She made dishes we loved using the Whole30 diet as a required by my physician. She knew the diet well and sent us a link to other recipes. We snapped pics of several dishes and sent them to her. She made our menu and it did not disappoint. We are falling in love with food again. Thank you chef Whitni!!!!! You won’t be disappointed, the fees are reasonable and are charged per hour.”

"I would like to share my experience with one of the chefs of whole health everyday. Chef Whitni stroud, before she moved from California to Lad Vegas, Nevada, was my personal chef, one day a weak, during my Chemotherapy. My daughter came one day and told me you are going to have your own chef! I was a little concerned about having a stranger in my kitchen cooking for my family! But, my daughters insisted that I should not have to worry about working in the kitchen theses days. But I was pleasantly surprised after meeting Whitni and, especially, after tasting her delicious cooking. She had a menus full of many different dishes that she would present to me before coming. I would choose three different kind of dishes that would last my family for a weak. We became fond of Whitni, not just because of her delicious cooking but also because of her nice and kind personality. She was always in time bringing the fresh and good quality produce etc. and would finish in time for lunch and leave my kitchen as clean as it was before she starts cooking. It was a very good experience which I miss now after Whitni Moved to Las Vegas. I still communicate with Whitni and miss her cooking a lot. "

" Whitney is amazing! We started having Whitney cook for my family of 5 a couple months ago to take some of the load off two working parents. She is reliable, ethical, and hard working. But most of all, her cooking is incredible!!! She caters to our specific dietary restrictions and makes it taste delicious. She has cooked for dinner parties we've hosted around the holidays and she does everything from prep, to plating a hot meal, to cleanup. She is such a great addition to our family's supporting cast!
