Interview with Chef Kristen
How did you end up being a personal chef?
I was inspired by my grandma who taught me how to cook. I always would have this feeling of excitement and happiness when the family would come around and we would gather and all help out in the kitchen making family meals. To me, it was a sign of love.
What inspired you to get into the health and wellness cooking?
About 7 years back I was struggling with stress and weight loss. I couldn’t lose the weight even with being extremely active. I learned not everyone is the same.
What is most rewarding to you about your profession?
Cooking food for an individual or family and seeing that smile on their face, it’s a form of love.
What types of clients/diets do you cook for?
I’ve learned to cook for all diet plans. I get asked how did I learn that? Well I would put myself on the diet plan and learn to cook that way.
How do you personally eat?
I personally have created my own diet plan. I know what works best for my body. Pescatarian cuisine with no gluten, soy or sugars.
What tips/advice would you give to someone trying to achieve optimal health?
Start slow or you will crash and burn is what I see from a lot of people. You have to learn and get adjusted to how you eat and continue to maintain it.
