My culinary career began with a quest to make the perfect guacamole. I was always a little unsatisfied with store bought or even restaurant guacamole and so I thought, “if you want something done right, do it yourself”. So I began to hunt down recipes and experiment until one day, voila! I had it! The satisfaction that comes with reaching a goal and the feeling of making food that is better than anything you can buy are two things that have propelled me forward in my career. I have over 8 years of culinary and catering experience now. I apprenticed under a celebrity chef in Houston, Texas and for the past 3 years I have represented America’s Test Kitchen as a culinary instructor and live demonstrator. I believe it is crucial to focus on mindful eating and the rule of 80/20.
Who am I outside of the kitchen? I was a swimmer in college so I understand the nutritional demands of an active lifestyle. I have circumnavigated the globe twice, traveled to over 90 countries, and love finding local, authentic cuisine. I’m known for being outgoing, dynamic, and full of energy. With my down time, I secretly love watching HGTV and dreaming up home designs. I also have the incredible superpower of memorizing song lyrics incredibly fast!
