Chef | Mom | Knowledge Seeker
Conference for Food Protection Manager, National Certified Professional Food Manager Certificate #11021923
Chef Katelynn started as an at home chef at a young age, cooking for her family and friends. She has a passion for cooking and that brought her to her decision of going to culinary school. While in school life had another plan and she became a mom. Becoming a mom made her notice that she needed to speed up her education and get experience in her field to make a better life for her son. To gain experience in her field quickly, she started volunteering at her school cafeteria.
She graduated from Orange Coast College in May 2016 with her AA in Liberal Arts and her AS in Culinary Arts, and went on to pursue a career in her field. She stated off as a cook at Water grill and aided them in their opening, with her team by her side, but with a child and a dream she aspired for more. Later, she tried out being a line cook at a casino and that wasn’t for her either. She is now pursuing her forever dream of being a personal chef and is eagerly anticipating what this new journey has in store.
Through her different jobs she has become experienced in cooking vegetarian, fish, poultry, and delicious sauces. After learning she is lactose intolerant she has completely taken dairy out of her life and has upped her skills in dairy free cuisine. She is also exploring the realm of paleo and keto cuisines as well as gluten free baking and cooking techniques. She especially loves doing healthy renditions of classic Italian and Mexican dishes. Katelynn enjoys learning about her clients diet and needs and creating delicious meals.
